The Mutual Fire Insurance Company of British Columbia, located in Langley, BC, is seeking a highly motivated and energetic team player to work in our Farm Department as an underwriter.
The duties of the position include, but not limited to:
• Providing timely, efficient and professional service to our brokers
• Answering questions and making recommendations to brokers through verbal and
written correspondence
• Accepting, rejecting and amending all levels of new business,
renewals and endorsements following company guidelines
• Processing new business, endorsements, renewals and cancellations
• Providing new quotes on risks following company guidelines
The ideal candidate will posses:
• Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing
• The ability to critically analyze data and be decisive
• A keen interest in self development and learning
• Good keyboarding skills and a working knowledge of MS Office applications
The successful candidate should have at least 1 year of experience in Farm
Underwriting. Preference
will be given to those currently enrolled in the CIP program or have achieved their CIP
designation.
